Vitreous Enamel stove pipes ?matt black

 

Standard Vitreous Enamel steel pipe only has a male end and no female end. The male end must be installed facing downwards. Due to only having one tapered end this pipe can be easily cut and still used within a system, with the male end from the second piece going inside the cut end of the first piece. Each joint must be coated with a jointing compound (fire cement or high temperature silicone sealant). This makes sure that no condensate can escape and spoil the appearance of the pipe.

Vitreous enamel flue pipe is designed for internal use to connect a heating appliance to either a chimney liner, stack or Vitreous flue system. It is used to create a neat, attractive and durable flue system and is suitable for use on gas, oil, solid fuel and wood burning appliances with gas temperatures up to 750ºC

It must be installed to comply with Document J of the Building Regulations in England and Wales, and part F of the Building Regulations in Scotland. All Vitreous enamel flue components are manufactured from 1.2mm CR4 VE Quality steel and enamelled strictly to BS 6999-1989 and comply with BS1344 part 1&7.

The Maximum length for Vitreous Enamel is 1.8 metres, and must not pass through ceilings or be used on outside walls.  It is recommended that a vertical rise of 600mm should be allowed immediately above the appliance, before any change in direction.  If bends are needed, then no part of a flue pipe should form an angle greater than 45° from the vertical, except where it may be necessary to use a very short horizontal section, not exceeding 150mm, of flue to connect a flue pipe to a back outlet appliance. A maximum of 4 bends (2 offsets) is permitted.  Distance from combustible materials must be three times the diameter of the flue pipe. E.g. 150mm Dia. = 450mm Clearance.
